Mighty Maori mariners and their waka hourua. . .

Long, long ago the mighty Maori mariners discovered Aotearoa.
There were seven waka travelling together, and they were called Takitimu, Mataatua.
Other wakas were called Te Arawa, Tokomaru and Kurahaupo.
Kupe led the way for the other mighty mariners. Over 80 people rowed the waka.

  4. Yvonne you are AMAZING! Your story is full of all kinds of information that I am sure some of the older children don't even know. And your waka is a very cool art work. Well done. Mrs Burt
