The tauihu taniwha (boat taniwha)

Most taniwha have a pukana face to scare dangerous sea creatures, and the bow is the front of the waka where the tauihu lives.
They are made out of native trees that are blessed by a tohunga - priest.
Some of the waka have taniwhas.

I want to be like Kupe, but I am a 6 year old girl!!
