The zoo, zoo, zoo!

Have a look at the talented art-work created by Freedom, Inga and Naomi after our visit to the zoo. They looked carefully at the patterns and shapes of the animals so they could re-produce these in their pictures.

This is Mr Jerahd. He is smiling at us because he wants to leap across his cage and come to play with us at school. Imagine finding Mr Jerahd on the junior playground!! Oh my gosh. . .

"Look at my elephant! I like my elephant because he has a fabulous swinging trunk to clean the bamboo before he eats it" said Giovanni.

A Peanut Trail

"Guess what? I went to the shops to buy some peanuts because Elly elephant loves peanuts. 

I am going to make a trail with the peanuts for my fabulous elephant to follow me home!!" said Lavinia.

Lunchtime Giraffe

The lunch giraffe is eating some leaves because he is hungry. 
What a wonderful giraffe!

I love my elephant because its beautiful and grey!
She is going to play with her friends and swing her trunk to spray water out like a rainy day!

Look at my fabulous elephant! 
He is jumping up and down, up and down because he is excited to see the gorgeous giraffe.

"Look at my terrific tiger. He is very hungry and he is waiting for some food to run run in front of him.
His stripes make him run fast like a motorbike" said William. (dictated to the Teacher)

He has black stripes so he can run fast like motorbike or a racing car" said Andrew.

Teriffic Tigers

When Room 4 went to the zoo we saw some amazing animals. The children have been writing about some of them trying to notice details and use powerful descriptive words in their stories.

This is what we created as a class. . .

The terrific tiger is lying down by the shady bush so he won't get sun-burnt.
He is waiting paitently for something to eat!
