What a wonderful finish to the year for Team 1!
Some teachers entered some beautifully decorated stars
into the 'Stars for Christmas' competition to decorate
trees at Starship hospital.
Well - two of Mrs Lal's smart boys won a prize.
A big thank you to Aron and Lomio- Lee for his amazing star which won a cash prize.
Mrs Lal decided she would like to share this with ALL of Team 1, because that's the kind of lady she is - so, thank you to Mrs Lal too!
Check out these pictures of happy, smiling, gorgeous Pt. Englanders. . .
The Year One Classes at Pt England School love to share their work with friends and family. We are 5 classes of 5 and 6 year olds and we have been doing lots of cool things at school. We are getting better at reading and writing and we know you will enjoy reading our stories.

My butterfly. . .
Before the beautiful butterfly hatched out of the chrysalis it was a caterpillar!
Monarch butterflies like to eat swan plants and they lay eggs under
the leaves. All butterflies have 3 body parts called the head, the abdomen and the thorax.
My butterfly is going to land on the flower because they collect pollen.

Why are bugs athletic?

Incy Wincy Spider By
The spider has oil on his 8 legs so he can walk on the web. He hides away and waits for an insect to get trapped on his sticky web. The beautiful web is soft and sticky in the garage. The spider uses his fangs to bite little critters. He injects the poison into the little critters so the spider can kill them. When there is danger he runs quickly to hide in the spiderweb. By Aaron

The earthworm
Earthworms live in the soil under the ground. They eat rotten plants and food scraps. Earthworms are good farmers because they help plants and vegetables grow. The tiny bristles helps the earthworm move in the soil.If the earthworm comes out of the ground they will get hurt and injured in the sunlight.Thier skin is soft and delicate. By Lomio-Lee

Little critters. . .
This is a butterfly and a flower. Butterflies like flowers because they eat the nectar.
I know a butterfly is an insect because it has 3 body parts, two antennae, and two pairs of wings.
The slug is black and he lives under the dirt.

Sally Spider
Sally spider is hanging around in her web!
She spun silky threads from her bottom to make the web . . .
They are really sticky and when insects fly onto it, they will get stuck!
A spider has 8 legs, 3 body parts called the head, thorax and the abdomen.
Clever Sally made the web her food catcher.
